The Thursday Council has a semi-public homeserver for general use.

How do I get an account?

1. Fill out this form. You'll get an email with a registration token, hopefully within a day or so.
2. Register with thursdaycouncil.org on your client of choice and enter that registration token when prompted. We also have a Sable instance if you're not sure what client to use..
3. Once you're in, consider joining the instance discussion space at #public:thursdaycouncil.org!

NOTICE: this homeserver runs Continuwuity, which has a bug that causes the client to buffer indefinitely when joining or leaving rooms. To fix this, clear your client cache (or log out and log back in) immediately after attempting to change room membership.

Homeserver rules:

• This is not a homeserver for "free speech absolutists" who think free speech encompasses hatred. Black lives matter. Trans rights matter. The patriarchy is a real problem. Love is love. No human is illegal. Palestine should be liberated. It doesn't matter what you call yourself or politically identify as — if you support any kind of oppression or express any amount of bigotry, then you are not welcome here.
• This homeserver may not be used for any harmful content, which can be difficult to specifically define but at least includes: child sexual abuse material (CSAM), malware, hate speech or symbolism, spam, depictions of excessive violence, doxxing, and anything illegal in most western countries. The line is drawn at the admin's discretion.
• Any rule-breaking should be reported to the admin at @ffb0f3:thursdaycouncil.org.

There's also a private community space, which is smaller and more active. You can fill out this form to be invited, but these rooms are primarily intended for people we know well and trust.
