A large portion of our small community can be found via Matrix, a decentralized chat protocol for real-time communication. See joinmatrix.org for more information about what Matrix is and how it works. If you already have an account on any homeserver, you can join the public space at #public:thursdaycouncil.org.
Additionally, the Thursday Council runs a semi-public homeserver for general use. You are not required to make an account on this homeserver to join the space where we talk. However, if you would like an account for yourself:
- Fill out this form. Do not lose the URL it gives you! Reload the page until a registration link appears. This usually doesn't take very long, and if you don't see anything within a day, feel free to resubmit.
- Use the provided link to create your account. Afterward, you can login with a client of your choice. We also have a Sable instance if you're not sure what client to use.
- Once you're in, consider joining the public space to say hi!
If you plan to use this homeserver or participate in our rooms, please keep the following in mind:
- This is not a homeserver for "free speech absolutists" who think that free speech encompasses hatred. Black lives matter. Trans rights matter. The patriarchy is a real problem. Love is love. No human is illegal. Palestine should be free. It doesn't matter what you call yourself or politically identify as — if you support any kind of oppression, express any amount of bigotry, or are willfully complicit in the systemic persecution of others, then you are not welcome here.
- This homeserver may not be used for any harmful content, which can be difficult to specifically define but at least includes: anything illegal in most western countries, hate speech or symbolism, child sexual abuse material, malware, spam, depictions of excessive violence, doxxing, and any deliberate attempts to make other people uncomfortable.
- Content or behavior may be considered unacceptable at the sole discretion of the admin or moderators, regardless of whether it is specifically listed here.
Rule-breaking should be reported to the admin at @ffb0f3:thursdaycouncil.org.
